As a form to give back to students and increase awareness and engagement towards anti-racist discussions, seed saving, sustainability, food justice, food production, composting, etc… PICA has now been collaborating with Demeter Seed Library to bring together quarterly raffles!
For our third raffle we decided that we wanted to do an Anti-Racist raffle to increase students and community members' discussions, education, and knowledge around anti-racist topics. Through careful planning and discussion, DSL and PICA came together to giveaway three packages filled with two anti racist books:
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
Killing the Black Body by Dorothy E. Roberts
In addition, we also provided a journal and pen, and artwork in each package.
Here is an image of the DSL and PICA leadership team during our zoom meeting :-)
